The three pictures I took during school have a large depth of field and a shallow depth of field. The two pictures with the three balls, I used as my shallow depth of field photos. I changed the focus from the first ball to the third ball. To create this, I put the F-stop on 3. The third photo was the three stools. This is the photo with a large depth of field. To create this, I put the F-stop of 28. I was able to change the focus by putting that setting on manual and twisting the lens. The first two photos are better because the focus is much sharper where it is focused.
One would want to use a shallow depth of field when you want one thing to be the focus of the picture and in focus. However, you would want to use a large depth of field when you want the whole picture in focus and many things in the picture in focus.
For the foreground, middle ground, background picture, I put a spray paint can as the foreground, a wire sculpture as the middle ground, and an outlet as the background. I also made the spray paint can in focus for a shallow depth of field. For framing, I had my friend hang on the bars and use the bars as a frame. Therefore I would be framing her using the bars. For leading lines I took a picture of the balance beam, I started at the end very close to the beam so it would be large then fade off to small. I also had my friend on the beam so it would add to the picture.
